Basic information is as follows:
I prefer for you to choose your own fabric(s). Gehmans Country Fabrics (www.gehmanscountryfabrics.com) specializes in Tropical Breeze fabric which is high quality and very durable, plus they have superb customer service! Please request when checking out to send your fabric to Lisa at Rachels' Seamstress Services.
Another fabric store that you can order 58" to 60" wide polyester/cotton solid fabrics from is Belmont Fabrics. This is an Amish Store. You can request fabric samples at 10 cents each and add another 50 cents for mailing. In the future, Rachels' may have a limited inventory of their broadcloth solids that you can choose from. For now, you can contact them at:

No time to receive your samples? Belmont Fabrics has a number of solid colors in their 'Jubilee' Broadcloth 58" wide fabrics. Their pricing is $2.79 a yard and come in the following solid color choices:
White, Ivory, Pink, Wine, Pale Green, Mint Green, Emerald, Jade, Teal, Dark Teal, Hunter Green, Blue, Sky Blue, Light Royal, Dark Royal, Navy, Light Yellow, Maize, Peach, Orange, Lavender, Purple, Brown, Gray, Black
You may wish to call Belmont Fabrics before sending in your order to be sure your fabric color is in stock. Please also send $13.00 for shipping. They will return any unused shipping amount.
I do ask that all fabric is at least 58" wide. Please also consider ordering zipper(s) and thread(s). Zippers should be 22" in length. If ordering from Gehmans', please ask them to 'Best Match' your zipper and thread to your fabric.
If you are not sure of fabric yardage, please e-mail me. I would be happy to estimate the yardage needed for your dress(es).

Sizes Small to X-Large $40.00 (X-Large is up to a size Women's 20)
Size Women's 22 and over $45.00
Shipping charge is $5.50.
In addition, I do offer DISCOUNTS on large orders. Please inquire at Rachels2@cox.net.
When you place your order, I will ask for specific measurements, such as bust size, under one front arm seam to the other in inches, length of bodice from shoulder seam to waist, length from waist to hem of dress, sleeve length, optional right or left seam pocket, and any other pertinent information.

Q: How do you sew the waist?
A: Unless you request otherwise, the waist is sewn without elastic. I have found that a dress with a full elastic waist will 'ride-up' and it is much more comfortable to have a waist without the elastic, and also made to fit your waist size. I do put in about 1 inch of elastic on each of the sides of the waist for a bit of 'give'. I have included this in my own dresses for several years and also have discovered when including this feature for dresses ordered by others, it is much liked.
Q: Can I request one or two side pockets in the side seam?
A: Yes. At this time there is no additional charge. Just let me know with your order whether you want one or two side seam pockets.
