I can hardly wait to make one for myself! The Rebekah Sun Bonnet is made from a double layer of high quality and soft cotton fabric and the brim is lined with one layer of cotton flannel. Cording is throughout the brim of the bonnet. I will start off with five rows of cording at the brim end, then space approx. 1" apart three rows. Extra rows of cording can be added, if desired.
This bonnet can be made in either a rounded brim (shown in picture) or a squared brim (picture soon forth-coming). The edge of the brim has fabric binding hand-sewn on. Some areas of this bonnet is hand-sewn. The 'bavolet' can be made in a 6", 7" or 8" length.
Back has ties in addition to the front ties, all made out of the same fabric as the bonnet.
Each bonnet is numbered for 'authenticity'. Truly a piece of art to be passed down to another generation.
Washing: Hand-wash preferred and highly recommended in mild soap and cool water. To dry, place on a rounded object and air dry.
The Rebekah Bonnet is beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice! You are right about how soft it is. I really like it. It should provide me the sun protection I need.
